Apartments Budgeting Counseling (A-B-C)
An alternative to the homeless shelter for people denied housing in their own name due to bad credit or a poor rental history. People rent from us and we help them clean up their credit and rental reference problems. In order to apply you may either: 1) print out and return this form or 2) complete it online here.
Emergency Services
Provides a grant of up to $250 to prevent evictions and utility disconnections, as well as help with first month's rent or security deposit. Eligible clients must live within the following zip codes: 22303, 22306, 22307, 22308, 22309, 22310, 22315, 22060, and 22079. Housing as Top Priority (HTP)
Offers a connection to affordable housing, along with guidance, support and some financial assistance to families facing homelessness. Services are aimed at breaking the family's cycle of homelessness. Contact Mattie Palmore at 703-768-9404 or via e-mail ( ) for assistance.
Budget Counseling
Financial education for low-income families and individuals. Participants clean up the credit history, learn new money management skills and gain financial independence. Only available for clients of Good Shepherd Housing apartment programs.
Children's Resources
Ensures that children in our programs do not miss out on educational, social and recreational activities simply because their families have low-incomes. This program provides school supplies, holiday gifts and pays for after school activities and summer camps. Only available for clients of Good Shepherd Housing apartment programs.
